(out of curiosity, since I've never used mods in BT - how well do the mech models work? Do they have updating hardpoints?)īased on the Hatchetman & Raven Flashpoints in the previous DLC, I'd bet that the 'wacky tech' in Heavy Metal (LBX, Coil, Thumper, Annihilator, Bullshark, etc) are unlocked by the 'Flashpoint Mini-campaign'. I got nothing but junk in all of the rare item rolls so it felt like.
You don't get to salvage enemy 'hero' mechs, in much the same way that the AI can't take yours when you withdraw/eject. But official DLC have their own things they do better - like changing the core code, or doing things that the mods can't do. You should get 250+ MRB rating, at least 15 rep with everyone, and most likely some rare items. (look at the mods for TES & Fallout games, for ex). Mods can always do "more" than the devs can, in the things they can do. Luckily it was piloted by my main character. If your standard is "well, mods give us more", you were always going to be disappointed. Mine was a classic 3-way fight, with the 2 enemies taking turns dismantling my Main Battle Station.
